I have been apart of the Howe Writing Center team as their student designer since Fall of 2021. The HWC is a writing consulting service free to students within the library on campus. During my time, I have rebranded the center and its satellite locations, created a large number advertisements, and created documents for internal, administrative purposes. 

Additionally, I am training the new designer that will fully take over my duties when I graduate in 2024. Once trained, we will work together to create pieces for the writing center until my time has come to an end.  

Each semester, I am tasked to create advertising pieces for the center's writing contests. Each contest has a poster, instagram post, and website banner designed. Above are my two most recent writing contest creations.

Another project I update on a semester basis is website and instagram advertisement for new semesters, including fall, spring, summer, and winter terms. Above is my latest rendition of advertisements. 

My project list also dips into internal staff documents. Above is my most recent example of the student survey results poster series I create each semester. These are posted in the break center at the end of each term for the writing consultants to view so they know what to improve on for the next semester. 

I take most pride in the new, updated brand for the HWC. I was given the task to re-brand the writing center so advertisements are more attractive to students and excite the staff. This project is still in progress and will be finished during the 2023 spring semester. Above are examples of the new brand.

Lastly, I have recently started designing for a satellite writing center within Miami's Farmer School of Business. This location is known as the Howe Center for Business Writing. With this large project, I am re-branding the satellite location, creating advertisements, and designing decorative posters to liven up the space within the center. This project is still in process and will be complete during the 2023 spring semester.

I am very proud of the work I have done so far in this position and am excited to continue this work until graduation! I love knowing I can help a useful campus service at a college I love.
